Farming and Gardening

ACDP’s program includes a number of different agricultural and horticultural activities. Both kinds of gardening requires effort that helps keep individuals engaged in the activity. Gardening can help with muscle and joint performance and is an excellent way to stay active. Being able to interact and work with others in an outdoor setting such as gardening helps build positive friendships between peers and teaches cooperation. These activities also promote the learning of life skills such as planting seeds and picking produce.
